We have owned Steel Pulse since 2006 and enjoyed cruising in her from Muckle Flugga in Shetland to the north, to Plymouth in the south of England and the Blasket Islands to the west of Ireland. The west coast of the British Isles has been our holiday cruising destination most summers and enabled us to enjoy and appreciate the beauty of the coastlines, harbours and bays and see a wealth of marine life – whales, otters and sea birds.
Unfortunately old age is creeping up on us. Prostate cancer for me and osteoporosis for my wife has caused us to change our life style a bit and it is with some regret that we are putting Steel Pulse up for sale.
Unlike many steel boats, she has as good a hull finish above the waterline as a fibreglass boat. Whilst tied up in a marina we have often had people tapping the hull to see if she was steel. Underwater the hull is well protected by anodes and we are planning to have the underwater part of the hull blasted and painted in August, after West Highland Week 2017.
The boat’s equipment has been continually upgraded, as noted in the For Sale section, and has been maintained in good working order.
We have entered the boat in this year’s West Highland Week at the end of July/early August and apart from that period she will be mainly in the Bangor, Northern Ireland area. We appreciate this is not a very convenient place for many to view her, but we can assist with accommodation.
